More iffy watercolour from yours truly. Today, a snooty stoat, coloured with Derwent Academy watercolour pencils.
The fox from a few days ago was done using poundshop water soluble pencils - the Derwent ones are nicer, and have somewhat more useful colours than the overly bright cheap pencils. Another difference here is that rather than colouring onto the page and then using water to blend, I used the opposing page as a palette, and then lifted the colour into the picture. It’s a technique that seems to work far better (for me).
As ever, impatience is my enemy, along with paper that soaks up the wash a bit too quickly, Good fun though.
